Who We Are   Our Mission   Our Vision

Houston High-Speed Rail Watch was founded in early 2015 by community leaders from the many Houston neighborhoods along the proposed routes of the planned Dallas-Houston high-speed rail line.  Our membership hails primarily from the North Central area (north of the 610 North Loop) and the Washington Corridor.  It includes representatives of most of the active civic clubs in those areas, Super Neighborhoods 5, 12, and 22, and the Independence Heights Redevelopment Council.

To be a voice for Houston’s neighborhoods by advocating smart connectivity between the high-speed rail station and downtown.

We envision an efficient mass-transit connection between Houston’s high-speed rail station and downtown that runs in a corridor appropriate to the selected transportation mode and is respectful of established neighborhoods.  To achieve this, government agencies must communicate and plan together effectively, and neighborhoods must have a seat at the table.
